A very big thank you to the folks from The Citadel House in Lewisporte, NL for having me as a part of their new Woodstove Sessions show. It was an excellent time and a great opportunity to promote my new stuff. The 45 minute show was recorded with a live audience, included an interview and will air on RogersTV at a later date. Petey (Pete ee) the cat also sat in with me during sound check!
Also, the night was split with the very talented singer/songwriter Christian Howse. He did an amazing job on his set as well! Will keep you posted on the RogersTV airdate in the coming weeks. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us and our endevours!

Coming soon, early in 2025 is the second and final installment of the Take Down The King project. It consists of another six songs; two of which are roughly around seven minutes in length. On the album I have my mom Ada Piercey Jenkins, good friends Michael Peddle, and Matthew Vincent as special guest players lending their talents and instruments.
The double album was produced and recorded at Shoal Tickle Studios owned by Robin Vatcher in Twillingate, NL. Additional notable credits to Denver Gidge, Matthew Vincent for drum production. Mixing and mastering provided by Scott Greene of Scott Greene Music, who is also a member of Derina Harvey Band. Here is the track list for Take Down The King, Pt. 2:
In the meantime while this project finale is nearing release, I have been writing and demoing new material for another batch of songs. More details to come.
Take Down The King will be split into two albums, Part 1 and 2. Part 1 is now available on all digital streaming platforms. Below is a complete tracklist for the project.
Part 1
Part 2
The Yearning is the newest single written and produced by Mike Jenkins. It is the second release of the 12 song record, "Take Down The King" and recorded at Shoal Tickle Studios in Twillingate, NL. Another big thank you to the people involved in the making of it.

07-09 contains a trio of songs demoed and recorded between 2007 and 2009, hence the album name. The songs were initially part of a 10 track project titled Eye To Eye completed within the same time frame. Without ever officially releasing “the final 3”, I decided to dust them off and do some mix/master work, throw them on an EP and get it out there.
The release marks the last chapter and closes the book on the Eye To Eye writings of the early 2000's.
07-09 is now streaming on all digital platforms.

To be this excited about releasing new material into the wild after years of working on it, is beyond words. The song “Take Down the King” is the first single from a string of tunes I’ll be releasing soon!
This song and the record was built to untangle and understand an energy that over time has been compounding in the shadows, waiting to be unleashed. It’s important to comprehend the fact that the external and internal obstacles preventing you from becoming a better version of yourself, will always be there. What we deal with on a personal level is part of what makes all of us human. The only way to defeat the beast and move forward is to accept living with it. That moment of realization is in itself, the victory.
Everything I have in me went into this project.
The single “Take Down the King” is now streaming on all digital platforms.
Keep an eye out for the album!
I’ve been working on another project. Now in its finishing stages, the work I put in is finally seeing daylight. It’s called Take Down The King. A batch of 12 tunes that I’ve lived, breathed and kept quiet for 5 years. It’s a personal achievement; the biggest, most difficult, and self satisfying thing I’ve composed. One that took its toll both physically and mentally in completing. The content is lyrically heavy, and categorized as rock sprinkled with blues, alternative, and progressive elements.
This is my fourth solo stint building a full project from scratch. After years of diligence I’ve constructed a personal masterwork that kicked my ass. Lyricising, planning, fleshing out ideas and arranging the song formats, recording the bed track foundation, and the overdubs is an exciting and exhausting venture at the level I push for. The project tested the limits of my creativity and skillset. Which in turn required patience, determination, and a substantial amount of will. Thankfully I had some help this time around. I’m humbled and very proud to have the support and artistic talents of Robin Vatcher, Michael Peddle, Matt Vincent, Ada Piercey Jenkins, Denver Gidge, Scott Greene, and Zac Osmond involved in the production.
A new single “Take Down the King” will be unveiled and released in June, with a new album to follow!
